In Sede Egarensis is a long-term deep exploration of the urban, suburban and peri-urban landscape of Terrassa. A series of walks through the different areas of the city have lead me to start building an image archive especially focused on vernacular and self-build architecture, the boundaries and voids of the urban grid, the evidences from the past still visible in the present day and hints of possible futures.
- The website
The project can be accessed in Catalan, Spanish, and English, in its entirety and as it is updated, on the website insedeegarensis.com.
- The porfolio
In parallel with the first exhibition of the project at the La Cúpula art space, I have published, in collaboration with Amics de les Arts i Joventuts Musicals de Terrassa, a limited edition porfolio, numbered and signed, which brings together eight fine art prints of the presented images.
The prints, each measuring 22.5×30 cm, have been printed on 320 g Hahnemühle cellulose paper. The portfolio design is the work of Samuel Garrofé, while production and printing have been carried out by Taller Fotogràfic.
The publication is part of the Carpetes d’Art Gràfic i Visual collection, which gives visibility to various art projects on paper. Digital printmaking, engraving, photography, graphic design, and illustration are disciplines that bring poetry to an initiative that highlights the stable and lasting “skin” that paper provides as a medium.
If you would like more information about the folder or wish to purchase a copy, do not hesitate to contact me.
- The first exhibit
The first selection of images from In Sede Egarensis was presented from May 6 to 31, 2024, in an exhibition at La Cúpula, the gallery space of Amics de les Arts i Joventuts Musicals, as part of the program for the second edition of Àlbum, the contemporary image and photography festival of Terrassa.
